merry xmas xx
Reply:That is so cool! Your daughter is going to have such great memories! My mum always used to have us put out a mince pie for father christmas and carrots for rudolf and in the morning we would rush down and there would only be crumbs and stalks left...I loved that. The fake foot print thing is great too. Special christmas PJ's and freshly laundered bed linen too...ahhh I miss being a kid at christmas
Reply:I love what you do... you have some wonderful ideas for your kids... can I use a few this year for my kids they will love it!!!

we stay home and make cookies for Santa( and Dad usually gets fussed at because he eats too many and Santa might not have enough) we eat supper , all pile up on the couch and watch christmas shows, then it is off to bed, we do the talc at the fireplace and letters from Santa in their stockings....

Merry Christmas
Reply:We leave out oats with glitter in the yard. It's reindeer food and helps guide them to our house.

My husband was on the telephone intercom as Santa and talking to our daughter.SHe told him what she wanted for Christmas and he reminded her to be good and not pee her pants! She was so amazed and hasn't had an accident in 3 days!
Reply:Your girls must be really excited about xmas!!!

you sound like a great mum!

I must tell my mum about this for my younger sibiling

XxXx
Reply:Karen???
Reply:You could put fake poo on the carpet in front of the fire and go on about santa not house training Rudolf
Reply:Wow thats brilliant, and in no way daft at all....!!!!

Theres nothing more wonderful than the look of excitement on a childs face at christmas time, the belief and magic should be kept going for as long as possible.

My youngest child is 11 and he stopped believing last christmas, but the magic and excitement is still there, always keep everything a secret, even my eldest (who is 18) gets a little excited. Anyhow we have it all to do again from scratch as our new baby boy is due next March, can't wait :)
Reply:Yes we've done all those things and last thing at night we used to fling an armful of blown up balloons over the banister so they landed randomly on the stairs and they could follow them all the way to their presents under the tree.

My kids are 25 and 21 and I still make up stockings for them and hang them inside their bedroom doors after they've gone to sleep - someone has to keep the magic going, you're grown up for a heck of a long time...

Merry Christmas everyone...
Reply:That sounds fantastic, your kids are very lucky. Our daughter will be 14 months this christmas so we'll start doing things like that when she understands more. But thanks for sharing that with us, I may have to pinch a few ideas, I like the talc %26amp; bit of red fluff ideas, very creative!
Reply:wow wish u had been my mommy!!!
Reply:god bless you for being such a good mom! my dad used to do all sorts of things like this when i was little and those memories warm my heart today. some of the more creative things he did (but not all of them) where to take a little of my pet rabbits food noticeably out.. then in the letter from santa say how the other raindeer loved the carrots we left them but that rudolph is a picky eater so he hopes we didn't mind that he gave rudolph some rabbit food, lol. one year he left big sleigh and raindeer tracks in our front yard (still not sure how he did that!), then one year we got the nintendo for christmas(yes the original one ,lol) and my dad was up all night playing it on christmas eve while we where asleep, any way he left it plugged in , set up and on, in the morning when us kids noticed that the nintendo was on and set up my dad told us in complete amazement %26lt; oh my goddnesss santa must have played with it before he left%26gt; lol we where so amazed and always believed him completely
Reply:Thats brilliant.

I never had the imagination to do things like that when my kids were small, but that will really add to the magic of Christmas for your wee girl. And that's what Christmas is all about.

good for you.

Merry Christmas when it comes
Reply:My mum used to ring a bell just after we went to bed - she carried on doing this until I moved out at 21! So funny!

My son is only 2 and we're just starting all these little traditions and I'm loving it - it is quite a responsibility being the one that is going to make the things he remembers for the rest of this life!
Reply:First

We put the tree up without my girl knowing took till 3am

Then a couple days after he came back to put the santa wish list on the tree so she could write what she wants, also when he came back he put mistletoe up in the livingroom and outside the front door

Then at the weekend my little girl saw father xmas, and gave her xmas list to him

Then 4days later he came back again and left a reply letter on the tree saying she is not on his naughty list etc...

Xmas Eve we will put the santa stop sign on the gardern

Then when she goes up to bed she will hear santas sleigh in the air (bells),I will have the bells tied to a long piece of string the bells will hang down from the gutter and i will pull on the string

I shall think of some different things to do this year
Reply:Christmas memories are some of our fondest, most heartwarming ones. So of course we want to preserve them in our scrapbook albums. However, when the hustle and bustle of the holiday season is upon us, we may forget to take particular photos or save certain memorabilia. To help you remember, below is a list of Christmas memories and keepsakes you’ll want to capture in your scrapbook album.

. Cutting Down the Tree

. For those who get their trees from a tree farm, cutting down the tree is a favorite Christmas activity. Take pictures of the tree before, during and after the cutting. Journal about who picked out the tree, where you got the tree and what the weather was like that day.

. Trimming the Tree

. Whether your tree is real or artificial, trimming the tree is a special event. Take pictures of the tree in various stages of being decorated. Include people hanging their favorite ornaments, putting on the star or angel, and posing with the fully decorated and lit tree.

. Deck the Halls

. In addition to the tree, you probably have lots of other Christmas decorations throughout the house. Take photos of the foyer, staircase, dining room or any other room you’ve spruced up for the holidays. If you have outdoor displays and lights, remember to take pictures of them, too.

Traditions We all have our own Christmas traditions such as baking cookies, going caroling, or hosting the neighborhood party. Make sure to capture these special traditions with photos. Keep in mind that journaling is especially important when it comes to traditions. For example, include your family’s cookie recipe or some of the words from a favorite Christmas carol.

. Letters to Santa/Christmas Lists

. If you have children who write Christmas lists and/or letters to Santa, make copies before mailing them so that they can be preserved in your scrapbook album. You, your children and your grandchildren will surely enjoy reading those letters together one day.

.

Twas the Night Before Christmas

. Here are some ideas of what to take pictures of on Christmas Eve: the family dinner; a gathering of family and friends; everyone dressed in their “Sunday best” for Christmas Eve mass; stockings hung by the chimney with care; snack/drink/note left for Santa and his reindeer. If Santa leaves the note behind, remember to save it for the scrapbook album.

. Christmas Morning

.

If you have young children Christmas morning can be quite chaotic, and it may not be easy to get certain shots. Some to try for are: the kids coming down the stairs and/or into the room with the tree; the tree before all the gifts go flying; the full stockings hanging by the fireplace; everyone with his/her favorite gift; the family breakfast.

.

Christmas Visiting

.

Whether you’re traveling over the river and through the woods or hosting at home, it’s hard to get pictures of everyone you’re celebrating with. Try for a whole group photo (if the group’s not too big) or break it down into smaller groups: the grandparents with the grandchildren; the grandparents with their own children; the men/boys; the women/girls; three or more generations; a photo of each family. Remember to include everyone’s name in your journaling. .

Christmas Card and Newsletter

.

Particularly if your Christmas card has a picture of your family or children on it, be sure to put it in your scrapbook album. You may also want to include any special cards you received – for example, a baby’s first Christmas card from Grandma and Grandpa. And if you write an annual newsletter to send out with your Christmas cards, put a copy of the newsletter in your scrapbook album as well. .
Reply:It sounds as if you all have a wonderful time at Christmas. Your girls are very lucky to have such a thoughtful mum.

We leave treats out for the reindeer, a snack and milk for Santa. This year we are going to make talc footprints leading up to the Christmas tree, and leave a not from Santa under his pillow telling him where his 'special' present is hidden.

Merry Christmas!

xx
