The invitation says the party will be a "cocktail buffet" and the attire is "festive". (At first I didn't quite know what to wear, but after posting a question about it I got some cute ideas)
Either this dress: http://www.wetseal.com/catalog/product.j...
or this dress: http://www.wetseal.com/catalog/product.j...
(Both dresses in black)
With something similar to these shoes in red (I'm a little if-y about wearing open toes in Winter, LOL!): http://www.wetseal.com/catalog/product.j...
Along with some Christmas-y accessories like red and green jingle-bell earrings and a cute matching necklace.
What do you think?
What do you think of this for an office Christmas party?
I like your instinct to put a "pop" of color on your feet. The shoes are a great choice.
The first dress has more of a dressier look and sheen. It is not a cocktail dress in the classic sense, but it can be dressed up. Since it has a plunging neckline you can pile on several short chunky necklaces or pull your hair away from your face and graze your neck and collarbone with dramatic dangling earrings.
I would stay away from the novelty accessories. "Festive" does not have to mean kitchy jingle bell bracelets and Santa ties. Holiday parties are about glamor, fun, and color... to be festive, incorporate these elements into your attire.
Reply:i would try different shoes
Reply:Check out the current issue of Marie Clair any one of those dresses I would think would be better suited for an office party. If you want to impress.
Don't want to offend...but the dresses you picked out are a little drab and the shoes to flashy.
